Petri Dish Pendants with Erin Prais-Hintz
Alcohol Inks + Resin = mini mysterious masterpieces!
Combining the brilliant colors of alcohol ink with the suspension properties of two-part epoxy resin results in some fabulous explosions of color that look like a miniature world come to life! We will discuss types of resin and play with colors of inks to create truly one-of-a-kind components. Join mixed media artist Erin Prais-Hintz of Tesori Trovati Art for this fun and colorful play date! All materials will be provided for you to make a variety of different shapes. Working with resin and alcohol inks can be messy, so please dress appropriately. Optional: you are welcome to bring your own alcohol inks, especially if you have favorite colors and don't want to share, but you will not need to buy any, as the instructor will share her vast resources!
Please remember that this is a highly improvisational technique and the results will vary. Resin needs a full 24 hours for curing before the big reveal...promise it will be worth the wait!
Optional: If you are able to come back to Meant To Bead on Sunday afternoon, anytime between 3:00-4:00, Erin will stick around to welcome you to the Sisterhood of the Petri Dish. We will ooh and aah over the big reveal of our resin work and discuss issues such as finishing, cleaning up mistakes, questions about the process, etc.
